In 1977, Wet Brush founder Jeff Rosenzweig was selling hairbrushes, hair styling products and accessories on the Roosevelt Raceway Flea Market in Long Island. As a father of three young girls, Rosenweig experienced the continual pain of combing his daughter’s tangled hair after washing, and discovered that the best brushes for tangled hair had flexible bristles with ball tips and floating cushions. Subsequently, he developed the detangling Wet Brush. The Wet Brush minimised pulling and tugging, to the delight not only of parents worldwide but also professional hairstylists.
Rosenweig’s innovation through his extensive hair care experience addressed a common problem and created a new beauty category: detangling. The success of Wet Brush has been acknowledged by consumers and professionals alike as the brush has been produced in 150 different styles and colours since the brand’s inception.
