9 Tips For The Perfect Eyebrows

Shaping your eyebrows is a vital part of any woman’s beauty regime. Having perfectly shaped brows can completely change your face shape and balance your features.

Here are 9 tips to create the perfect eyebrows…

Always use a good pair of tweezers. You need to make sure that you get a quality pair of tweezers if you’re going to have the perfect brows. Make sure that they’re sharp and slanted so that you can grab those stray hairs without pinching the skin.

Tweeze after you’ve had a bath (or shower). The steam will open up the follicles and soften the hair. This means that when you pluck the hair will come out a lot easier – which in turn will also make it a lot less painful.

Don’t have time for a bath? Then soaking a flannel in warm water before applying it to your eyebrows for five minutes will have the same effect.

Chose your location carefully. Where you pluck your eyebrows is really important. Make sure that you’ve got great lighting so you can see all those stray hairs. Also magnified mirrors are a huge no, no as they can often make it look as though there is more hair that needs to be removed than there actually is.

Prone to irritated skin? If your skin tends to get irritated after you’ve plucked then soak a bit of cotton wool in witch hazel and apply when you’re finished. This will ease the skin and ensure that you’re ready to get out of the door when you’re finished without any blemishes.

Know where it is you need to tweeze. You only really need to tweeze your brows in two places: between and under. Your brows should start above the corner of your eye with the arch being in line with the iris. Then they should continue until the outside of your eye. Feel free to remove from stray hairs from the top but as a rule of them you pluck from the underneath, not above.

Don’t over-pluck. It’s not uncommon for women to go OTT when it comes to plucking their brows. It’s a good idea to do a little bit at a time, switching between sides. Once you get your shape right the first time, the maintenance part should be easy.

You don’t have to just use tweezers. If you’re prone to long hairs or hair that stands up then rather than using tweezers use an eyebrow comb and nail scissors to give them a little trim. Be careful not to cut them too short however as you don’t want them to stand out even more.

Schedule in regular maintenance sessions. Like we’ve already said, once you’ve done the hard part of shaping the brows the upkeep is the easy part. Try to schedule in a spot of maintenance every two weeks just to keep them in order.
